Same Domain Name Reported Sold At Sedo And Afternic

Interesting thing I noticed today while looking over some recent product domain name sales. Sedo (.xml) and Afternic are reporting the sale of the same domain name: AdhesiveLabels.com for the price of $3,816. The domain name was in Sedo’s Online Retail Auction that I wrote about here and ended on 06/10/2010.
From what I can come up with is that it appears that the domain was a Buydomains.com (RareNames) domain that was sold on Sedo’s platform during the Online Retail Auction – but then why would Afternic also report the sale of the domain name if it didn’t sell on their platform? The title of the Afternic blog post is “Weekly AfternicDLS Sales” which to me means domains sold on AfternicDLS.

Good catch. I suppose a related point would be that if you sell a domain you need to be diligent and remove it from other marketplaces. This is particularly important if you have fixed pricing for your domains.
